the Japan's Welding Industry?

Domestic Welding Consumables Total Demand Volume in 2014 (Calendar Year) Is Forecasted
To Be 266,450 Tons Up
by 1.1% Year-on-Year
Last year's welding industry underwent a transition with stringent situation since a decrease of execution of works in the ship sector continued following the previous year, and one year has passed that the demand industry such as steel frame construction, motor vehicles and industrial machines was sluggish compared to the previous yearﾕs rehabilitation demand and the economy recovery circumstances, undergoing a transition with minutely decreasing tendency.
In particular, a decrease of welding execution volume in ships gives a large impact on welding consumables demand volume since the welding consumables demand density (Unit consumption) is the highest demand industry, and the result was that the last yearﾕs all demand volume such as submerged wires/flux, covered electrodes including flux cored wires all fell short of the previous year.
