【What Does 2018 Hold for the Japan’s Welding Industry!】

　For the world economy in 2018, the GDP (Gross Domestic Product) of China is foreseen to remain stagnant continuously, though the economy continues to grow gradually from the previous year in the United States, advanced countries/regions in Euro, and the economic growth in emerging countries and developing countries still continues.
For the prediction of real economic growth rate (forecasted by IMF) in each country/region for 2018, the economic trend in each area/region reflected the economic growth, showing 2.1% for the United States, 1.7% for Euro area (Europe), 6.4% for China, 7.7% for India, 5.2% for ASEAN countries, and 4.8% for other emerging countries and developing countries respectively, or growth of 3.7% for entire world.
　For the demand for steel material in the world in 2018, the demand for steel material in China remains at the same level as 2017, however, the demand for steel material in the world in 2018 is expected to be $1648.1 million（forecasted by World Steel Association) or 1.6% increase over the previous year in 2018.
　The economic forecast In Japan is expected to be 1.8% increase in real terms over the previous year except for the influence of the price fluctuations.
　The better-than-expected economic growth is expectable, depending on trends such as activated infrastructure development for the hosting of Tokyo Olympics in 2020, progress of export on the basis of depreciation of the yen, recovery of investment on equipment, etc.
